Recognised by all as “The Boss,” Augusto Zucchetto stood at the helm of the family for many years. Visionary and entrepreneurial in spirit, he played a pivotal role in the growth of the restaurant. However, aware that his children were naturally succeeding him in leadership, he turned his passion towards the flourishing family farm: the Tenuta di Meregone.
Thanks to his dedication, guests could enjoy excellent Ormeasco wine, fresh and authentic vegetables, and fruits with flavours long forgotten. Rightly gruff at times, yet deeply proud of his independence and authority, "Nonno Augusto" often surprised those around him with acts of generosity, guided by the big heart he kept hidden behind his gentle ruggedness.
He passed away peacefully in the company of his loved ones at the venerable age of 83, in November 2019, leaving an unfillable void in the family and the entire local community.
Even now, his presence can still be felt within the ancient walls of our home. If you listen closely, you might hear the echo of his laughter, a sound that could spread joy and defuse even the most heated discussions.
